Massachusetts shooting leaves 1 dead, investigation ongoing

At about 2 p.m. on Saturday, police were called to the area of 9 Hoyle Street after a 911 call, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office. When members of the Norwood Police Department arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. The man was brought to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office is working with the Norwood Police Department to investigate the shooting. The investigation is ongoing. Officials did not announce any arrests in a statement Saturday night. Mass. State Lottery winner claims large prize ahead of holiday season

Man who killed Middlesex County prosecutor in 1980 denied parole

Additionally, Evans was convicted on counts of armed assault with the intent to rob and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He was sentenced up to 20 and up to 10 years for those crimes, respectively, to be served concurrently with his life sentence. Bigham was killed on Oct. 2, 1980, at around 1 a.m., according to the Parole Board's decision on the case dated Nov. 17.
